Helping the homeless stay homeless
by Maddog on Jun.13, 2009, under Looters
Helping the homeless stay homeless, while subsidizing independently wealthy real estate speculators and rent seekers.
There is always going to be homeless because of mental illness, and to a lesser extent business failures. However in a free market where people are allowed to succeed or fail without government interference, those entrepreneurs learn from their mistakes and eventually pull themselves up by their bootstraps. The fiery furnace of the free market tempers the blade of innovation. Hence the allowance of those temporary failures eventually leads to a higher standard of living for the average member of civilization
Here is the problem. There are those who are using the government as a tool to guarantee profits and success for themselves. This eventually leads to a reduction in the standard of living for the average member of civilization as a whole.

Congress votes to give FDA power to regulate tobacco & nicotine
by Maddog on Jun.12, 2009, under Politics
Source : My Way News
Thursday’s legislation gives the FDA power to evaluate the contents of tobacco products and to order changes or bans on those that are a danger to public health. The agency could limit nicotine yields but not ban nicotine or cigarettes.
Ok so they are allowing the slaves some vices, i. e. they won’t allow the FDA to outright ban it….. YET.
The nation’s largest tobacco manufacturer, Philip Morris, USA, has come out in support of the legislation. Its parent company, Altria Group, said in a statement that on balance, “the legislation is an important step forward to achieve the goal we share with others to provide federal regulation of tobacco products.” (continue reading…)

by Maddog on Jun.10, 2009, under Police
I was going to say he got away with murder however, based I what I know of the case, it is at least manslaughter.
Sometime I’m going to write and article about how prosecutors stack the jury pool until it is made up mostly of relatives of law enforcement.

Underdog Militia’s server was down
by Maddog on Jun.10, 2009, under News
Unfortunately the server that hosts underdogmilitia.net went down sometime Tuesday night (June 9), and was down until I discovered it at about 2:30 am on June 10, 2009.
This also had the effect of shutting down my email service, so any emails sent during that time was most likely lost.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Five Guys Burgers & Fries Reloaded
by Maddog on Jun.07, 2009, under Food
If you read my last post about Five Guys Burgers and fries forget about it.
Saturday I got hit with burger cravings. So I remembered that when I went there last time it took them about ten mins to cook my burger and fries. So I decided to call ahead of time. I called at exactly 6:26 pm. I know this because that is the time that is on the printed receipt when I picked up the food. It almost matched the time on my watch (6:25 pm). The person who answered the phone told me the food would be reading in about 10 minutes.
Now I get there exactly 10 minutes after I called. Yes I planned it that way. At that point I had to wait another 5 minutes for my food. And the food was not worth the high price. Since I ordered two burgers and two fries, it became much more clear to me how overpriced the food was. You see, last time I only ordered one of each so I didn’t see my error. (continue reading…)

National Defense
by Maddog on Jun.05, 2009, under Politics, SelfDefense
The main thing causing the erosion of liberty in the occupied land formerly known as the United States of America is the masses confusion between national defense and law & order.
“A standing army is always dangerous to liberty,” we are told.
However, most people who are willing to concede that fact don’t know why a standing army threatens liberty.
In times of peace there should be no standing army. Instead everyone old enough to handle a gun should be trained to use it. Thus, the individual will be able to defend himself from most acts of aggression. Gun ownership must be mandatory. This and the enforcement of contracts is the only reason governments should exist.
But how does a standing army turn against liberty?
