This is not a painting of the past

I remember years ago I was walking through a antique and used stuff co-op. I saw this print on the wall of a painting by Maxfield Parrish.
I stood there and stared imagining where and when that scene is taking place. I immediately knew that it was not a painting of the past, but of the future. I saw not only what was in the scene but also what was not in the scene.
In one of my past articles I wrote Conformity is theft from posterity
That painting is one possible distant future that posterity may enjoy. If people have liberty and evolve beyond the inferior savage, the technology could someday exist that would allow the human race to colonize other planets and live in a paradise. You see, what the painting doesn’t include is the far advanced technology that would exist. The youthful looking people in the painting could be old but have anti aging technology or have evolved to age extremely slowly. Just beyond the frame of the scene there may be servant robots. On the other side of the mountains is a fantastic city with a spaceport.
This is not a painting of the past.
This is a painting of the future.
If man has one.
